Holiday Movie Mash Up will showcase a variety of group numbers, trios, duets and soloists performing to their favorite holiday movie music. This show will be fun for the whole family! All skaters are welcome to participate in the holiday show. Registration details and information below.
Registration Information
- Registration Open Date: Monday, October 28th at 12:00am
- Registration Close Date: Saturday, November 16th at 11:59pm
*Space is limited and will be on a first come first served basis. All Learn to Skate and Academy group numbers will be given a maximum capacity. Please register on DaySmart as soon as possible to avoid being waitlisted.*
Pricing
The total cost for a soloists is $55
The total cost for each skater in a duet or trio is $30
Total cost for all skaters participating in a Learn to Skate group number, levels Snowplow 1-4, Basic 1-4, all Hockey levels and Parent & Me, will be $180. This price will include the following for all skaters:
- Four 45-minute on ice rehearsals
- One 1.5 hour Dress Rehearsal
- A costume accessory for each skater to keep after the show is completed
- Participation in Holiday Movie Mash Up!
Total cost for all skaters participating in a Learn to Skate or Academy group number, levels Basic 5-6, Teen Class Academy Prep, all Academy levels and all Adult levels, will be $222. This price will include the following for all skaters:
- Four 45-minute on ice rehearsals
- Two 45-minute off ice rehearsals
- One 1.5 hour Dress Rehearsal
- A costume accessory for each skater to keep after the show is completed
- Participation in Holiday Movie Mash Up!

Any skaters is welcome to participate in Holiday Movie Mash Up, by registering for a solo or a duet/trio. Skaters will need to work with the guidance of a private instructor to help choreograph the skating program to be performed in the show. All programs must be a length of 2 minutes MAXIMUM. Skaters who plan to perform as a soloist, in a duet or in a trio, will organize independent practice time with their private lesson instructor(s) on Freestyle or Public Sessions.
Skaters may choose to participate in a solo or duet/trio option as well as in a group performance.
REGISTER HEREGroup Performances
All skaters are welcome to join a group number in Holiday Movie Mash Up. Skaters should be registered for the level in which they are currently enrolled or the level in which they previously finished. No new skills will be taught during the rehearsals; skaters will learn choreography to be performed as a group during the show. All skaters enrolled in the group performances are required to have a Learn to Skate USA Membership to register.
Each group level will be assigned a coach who will decide on the piece of music in which the skaters will perform to, as well as the accompanying costume accessory for them to keep after the completion of the show.
REGISTER HEREGroup Class Rehearsals
There are 4 total general rehearsals for those participating in a Learn to Skate or Academy group number prior to the Dress Rehearsal and the show. These rehearsals will be held on consecutive Wednesday afternoons and Saturday mornings. Skaters are permitted to miss up to one rehearsal and still be able to participate in the show, however, it is recommended that skaters prioritize attending all rehearsals.
- Rehearsal 1 – Saturday 11/30
- Rehearsal 2 – Wednesday 12/4
- Rehearsal 3 – Saturday 12/7
- Rehearsal 4 – Wednesday 12/11
Dress Rehearsal
The Dress Rehearsal will take place on Friday, December 13th from 3:00pm-4:30pm. It is mandatory for all group class show skaters to participate in the Dress Rehearsal. All group class skaters are required to dress in all black, with full hair and makeup (as specified by the coach) on this day.
If there is time to include soloists, duets and trios to participate in the Dress Rehearsal, skaters can purchase time slot for $16.00. Information regarding the Dress Rehearsal and available time slots will be emailed at a later date by Kristen Perdue, Skating Director (kperdue@therinks.com).
Group Class Costume
All skaters participating in Holiday Movie Mash Up, are required to provide their own all-black outfit for uniformity amongst skaters in each group. Here are examples of what a skater might wear:
- Plain black sweatshirt without a hood
- Plain black long sleeve shirt
- Plain black joggers or sweatpants
- Plain black leggings
Clothing should be free of logos or designs. The costume accessory included in the cost of registration will be provided for each group skater to wear in addition to their all black outfit.

Tickets
General Admission tickets can be purchased in advance as well as at the door.
General Admission - $10
- First come, first served seating or standing room around the rink
- Guests are encouraged to bring blankets and/or a pillow to sit on
Ask us how you can support a local charity this holiday season in place of the cost of a general admission ticket (kperdue@therinks.com)!
VIP Admission tickets should be purchased in advance. We will make every attempt to accommodate those who request a VIP ticket at the door, however this is not guaranteed.
VIP Admission - $40
- Open seating on ice
- Plastic folding chairs on a carpeted surface
- Includes VIP snack and beverage station
- Guests are encouraged to bring blankets and/or a pillow to sit on
Flash Photography or Videography
Flash Photography is prohibited during the show.
Parents are welcome to film and photograph (without flash) their skater during the show. Please be respectful of the other parents around you so that all guests can enjoy this family friendly event.
